Delete your data

mybu has no accounts and no sign-in. Your journal is stored on your phone and you erase it yourself in the app. A small amount of technical data is kept on mybu’s server; you can request its deletion by email.

1. Erase the journal from your phone

  1. Open mybu and go to Profile.
  2. Tap Delete everything and confirm.

This stops GPS walk recording, cancels reminders and deletes local records, photos, audio, files and cached exports. It cannot be undone: if you want to keep anything, export your data or make an encrypted backup first, from Profile.

Delete everything does not erase:

2. Request deletion of server data

Depending on the features you used, mybu’s server may hold the following, linked to a random installation ID (not to your name or an account):

The Delete everything button does not remove this data. To request its deletion:

  1. Copy your installation ID from Profile → Privacy and AI before deleting the app or its data.
  2. Write to hello@inithex.com with the subject “mybu data deletion” and include that ID.

We may ask you to confirm that the installation is yours before deleting. We will only keep what the law requires us to keep.

3. Your subscription is cancelled separately

Deleting mybu or its data does not cancel the mybu AI subscription. Cancel it in the subscription settings of your Apple or Google account. Apple and Google keep their transaction records under their own policies.

4. Withdraw AI permissions

If you only want mybu to stop sending content to the AI: Profile → Privacy and AI → Withdraw AI permissions. Requests already sent cannot be recalled.
